Obituary of Douglas Alan Host

Douglas Alan Host of South River passed away peacefully on April 26th.  A retired AT&T project manager he graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism.  He was also coauthor of several books on the Unix computer language.

He is predeceased by his mother, Joyce Matich Host and his father, Raymond Shelby Host.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Andrea Beecher Host and daughters, Jennifer Wagner of Philadelphia and Sharlene Marple of Barnegat. He is also survived by his grandson, Cole Wagner of Philadelphia and his siblings:  his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Jack Karetnick of Jackson, his brother, Kenneth Host of Somerset, his brother, Robert Host of Morganville,  his sister and brother-in-law, Sherilee and Kris Backman of Brattleboro, VT and his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Charmaine Host of Mt. Clemens , MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and  foster grandchildren, Cara & Jenna Puzzio.

A memorial service will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society. https://www.nationalmssociety.org.
