Obituary of Ida M Covino

Ida M. Masiello- Covino, 92, of South River, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in South River, Ida was a lifelong resident of the area. During her younger years, Ida sang at the Liberty Ballroom with a band, where she met her future husband Michael. Besides her love of music and singing, she was also a talented pianist. Ida was an active communicant of Corpus Christi Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She was a member of the Columbiettes, an organization working with the Knights of Columbus. She was also a lifelong member of the Italian American Society. Ida was a sports enthusiast. One of her favorite pastimes was watching professional football on television and attending South River High School football games. Ida loved spending summers at her beach house with her family. Ida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and so much more. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ida is predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Michael Covino, who passed away in 2010, and her four brothers. She is survived and will forever be remembered by; her two daughters, Annmarie and her husband Fred Lupa of Hamilton Township; and Margaret Covino of Howell; her four grandchildren Michael Lupa, Craig Lupa and his fiancé Branka, Kristen and her husband Darren Prince, and Mike Young, her great grand-daughter Kenley, and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to acknowledge her loving caregivers Luba and Tatiana as well as VNA Hospice. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 2 nd , from 10:30-11:30 am, followed by a prayer service at 11:30 am at Rezem funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum.
