Obituary of Carol S. Jacobs

Carol S. Jacobs, 87, of Monroe Township, passed away on January 23, 2020 at St Peter’s University Hospital. Carol was born on November 24, in New York; she was the daughter of the late Leon and Miriam (Kaminetsky) Schiff. She is predeceased by her loving husband Robert in 2007. Carol is survived by her two sons, Larry and his wife Laura of Colonia, and Peter and his wife Denise of Vienna, VA; grandchildren Andrew and wife Gina, Brandon and wife JoJo, Nina, Andrew, and Michelle. Also surviving are her two sisters, Susan Hason and husband Vincent Navarro, and Ronnie Wiederkehr and husband Lee Wiederkehr. It was common for this 87 year old to have three or more activities per day. Zumba in the morning, lunch with friends, playing Canasta or Rummy in the afternoon, and attending meetings. Most important to Carol was her love for the theatre, which brought her to Manhattan regularly as well as to the George Street Playhouse, and moderating a very popular theatre group. She was also dedicated to her work supporting the Brandeis fundraising committee and was very active within the Concordia community, including serving as Hospitality Chair for Concordia’s Shalom Club. Her most beautiful quality was her caring about friends who became ill, going with them to doctor visits and helping in any way needed. Memorial Gathering will be Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 10am-12 pm at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. A service will begin at 11am with Rabbi Bernhard Rosenberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the hospital that took wonderful care of mom and her family the last few weeks of her life, St Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ at https://www.saintpetershcs.com/donate or, donate to a local reading program for children, a cause Carol actively supported.
