Obituary of Marie Guzzardi

Marie Guzzardi passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 6th, 2019.

 

She was 92 years of age.

 

Born in Astoria, Queens, Marie grew up in Brooklyn, where she lived for most of her life, before relocating to Spotswood.

 

Marie was an active with the East Brunswick Italian American Club and South River Italian American Club, and loved having Friday dinners at the VFW. Marie was an active communicant at Immaculate Conception Church in Spotswood.

 

She was predeceased by her son, Salvatore Guzzardi, and her siblings, Madeline Pomparelli, Antoinette Manzi, Frank Sollecito, and Thomas Sollecito.

 

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Thomas Guzzardi, her daughter Maria Hunter, daughter-in-law Ann Guzzardi, her brothers Al Sollecito, and Vincent Sollecito, her 8 grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Dana, Scott, Nicole, Jason, Vincent, Thomas, and 21 great grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Rezem Funeral Home.

 

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 11th from 10:15am at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.

 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Marie's memory to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
