Obituary of Garold Hobson

Garold Douglas Hobson passed away in Manhattan, NY on June 5, 2018. Doug as he

is fondly called was born in Salem Indiana on November 4, 1951 to Garold & Roaslie

Hobson who preceded him in death. Doug graduated from Salem HS and served in the

US Army for six years having served a Tour of duty in Vietnam from November 1969

to November 1970. He was also stationed in Germany, and worked as a Diesel Truck

Mechanic. He received numerous awards and commendations, medals during his Tour

of Duty and was honorably discharged in May 1973.

He was a skilled craftsman and performed carpentry and mechanical repair projects

most of his adult life. For the past 36 years he lived up east in New York and New

Jersey, was self employed and owned his own contracting business, Hobson & Son.

Doug is survived by his wife, Juliet Banaag Hobson, son Jason D Hobson (Liz) who is

a Major in the VA National Guard, a daughter Heather Simmons, sister Rita Maudlin,

brothers Larry (Sue) Hobson, Steve (Pam) Hobson, Kent (Melinda) Hobson, Tim

Hobson and numerous nieces and nephews,

A Memorial mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in South River, New Jersey.

Immediately following is a Memorial Military service and Inurnment at BG William
