Obituary of Helen Egbert
Helen J. Egbert, 85, of Spotswood, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.
She was born on April 5, 1933 as the middle child of three sisters in Jersey City, NJ to Maria Volkert.
On August 27, 1955 she married George F. Egbert (known lovingly by all as "Mickey") in Secaucus, NJ. Together they moved to what was at the time rural central NJ, bought a new house and then had a daughter and a son.
Mickey and Helen enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with traveling together, especially to the Caribbean. Since they had no grandchildren of their own, they joyfully became intertwined in the lives of thegrandchildren of other family and close friends.
Mickey passed away on December 8, 2004.
Helen is survived by a daughter Barbara (John Frercks) of Princeton and a son, Bruce of Spotswood.
Family, friends and others whose lives Helen touched are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, June 10 between 2pm and 4pm at the Rezem Funeral Home at 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
Even though they had two of their own, Helen and Mickey still adored children. In lieu of flowers, it would please them both if you were to make donations to The St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the Make-A-Wish Foundation (www.wish.org)
