Obituary of Robert Miller, Sr.
July 13, 1932- February 9, 2018
Robert "Bob" A. Miller passed away Friday, February 9th at Robert Wood Johnson, Hamilton. He was 85.
Born in Newark, NJ, he resided there before moving to Monroe than Spotswood and settling down in Hamilton Square with a home he had built for his family 35 years ago. Bob was a man of many talents and served in the Navy Reserves on the USS Rizzi, worked as a Police Officer for the Newark Police Department, sold Real Estate and finally retired as a supervisor for the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Bob adored and cared deeply for his family, especially his granddaughters. He never missed a soccer game they played and was sure to be cheering his 3 granddaughters on in all aspects of their life. In the spring and summertime, Bob enjoyed going to Monmouth Park Racetrack with his son where they placed bets on horses and were partners over the years owning a few horses, too. Bob devoted the last few years of his life giving the absolute best care to his beloved wife who is sick at home and for that she is forever grateful.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as he was and will be forever remembered as, "everyone's friend."
Robert is predeceased by his parents John and Theresa Miller, his brother John, his sister Irene and his granddaughter Shannon.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Marianne (Jusinski) Miller; his son Robert Miller Jr. and his wife Susan, of Sayreville and his 2 granddaughters: Megan and Camarie; his little brother Joseph and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 16th, from 5-8pm at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
A funeral service will take place Saturday, February 17th at 10:00am at the funeral home, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
