Visitation at Funeral Home
My dear Ruka family,
My heart is broken just like yours. Sylke was my in-laws friend who I first met at my bridal shower. Then I met Jean at my wedding on March 10, 2001. She became my walking partner & my best friend. We walked & we talked almost every day. If it rained we had an umbrella. When it was cold we had more layers.
We spoke about good times & bad ones... about her childhood & mine... about her precious children who she loved & adored… and husband Jean who she loved & respected. She spoke about her regrets & her joys. I listened & looked into your beautiful blue eyes trying to capture every moment so I would learn from her experiences. She told me how she loved her mom-in-law who loved the Lord... I could relate since I totally adore mine.
She spoke to me about Germany & her sister who lives there. She always wanted to hear from her… & when she did –we would rejoice. She loved to eat dark chocolate & Klondike mint bars. Often she would call to tell me what’s on sale @ Shop Rite. She introduced me to Aldi---my favorite supermarket where Germany products are sold.
We spoke about what is happening in the world today & the wars in the past. Sometimes it was a great history lesson & sometimes we just prayed that Jesus would take us all home.
And now that’s where she is… with Jesus & the angels. I will cherish the times we had together... and pray all of you who knew her will too.
I will miss her terribly but I know I will see my lady in heaven someday … when God returns or He takes me home.
