Tad Chamberlain posted a condolence
Friday, August 4, 2017It was my pleasure to work with Irwin and develop a friendship. As I was lying in the hospital recovering from surgery, Becky and Irwin came to visit. Of course they brought coloring books and playdough to keep me busy. Irwin loved his family and as noted spoke of them often; we called our wives 'our real bosses'. Irwin and I usually started our work day with a planning session with no small amount of humor thrown in. More than once I said 'don't make coffee come out of my nose!" When he became ill, his thoughts were of his family as I'm sure that you all know. You have my greatest sympathy. I will think of my friend often and forever. Irwin was a great and pious man with inumerable gifts. With Sympathy, Tad and Vicki Chamberlain

Friday, August 4, 2017My first introduction to Irwin was when we were thrown together as roommates our freshman year at the University of Buffalo. Within hours of our first meeting when I moved into the dorms, he talked me into driving to Niagara Falls, Canada, before I had even finished unloading my car. When the Canadian border guard asked me if I had anything to declare, before I had a chance to reply Irwin pointed to the two pillows in my back seat and called out, "Nothing but these bags of cocaine." That was the Irwin I came to know -- fun and just a little bit edgy. A few years after leaving Buffalo we lost touch for a while except for occasional cards on the holidays, until the Internet came along and we re-kindled our friendship thru the magic of email. As Bill Marks related elsewhere on this page, we shared many memories (some of them even true) about those long-lost days, and it was a true joy to be able to stay in touch and laugh together again with my old friends. My heartfelt condolences go out to Becky and the family.

Thursday, August 3, 2017I worked with Irwin for many years . He was a pleasure to work with always willing to help. Irwin and I had a cookie ritual. When a new limited edition Oreo cookie was released I would buy them and Irwin would be the sampler. Giving his opinion if it was good or not, but he would always say Oreo should leave things alone and stick with the original chocolate cookie. He was an Oreo purest. My condolences to the family and friends of Irwin. He will be missed. With Deepest Sympathy Lori Lytle

Thursday, August 3, 2017It's been over 40 years since I first met Irwin. These past couple of decades we engaged in frequent benders regarding our college years - challenging each other's memories and laughing about some of the ridiculous situations we ended up in. My personal favorite involved water balloons. Irwin's absence from our forum will be difficult, but my sorrow will be tempered by the joy of his memory. My condolences to Becky and the rest of the family. Thank you for letting us know.
