Marilyn Doris Mastrolia, 77, of Parlin, New Jersey, passed away on January 7, 2021, peacefully at Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. She was born in Bloomfield, NJ on September 22, 1943, to Joseph and Doris Spagnardi. She resided in the Parlin section of Sayreville for 48 years. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend to many. Marilyn took great joy in spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and listening to her husband sing. She always had a smile on her face, especially when she was around her loved ones. Marilyn enjoyed cooking and making special meals for her family. She was known for "Nanny's" chicken cutlets, her homemade manicotti and pizza dolce. She loved going to Atlantic City, having dinners with her life-long friends, shopping with her daughters, celebrating family gatherings, attending her grandchildren's events and listening to her favorite Doo-wop group. She was an avid gardener and showed off her tomato plants with great pride. She was always available to lend a supportive ear and made everyone feel special. Marilyn was a strong, kind, caring person who found laughter in everything. She will be greatly missed and thought of everyday. She is predeceased by her parents. In addition to her loving husband, Michael of 40 years, she is survived by her two daughters, Deana Bannerman and her husband, Brett of Old Bridge and Kristen Yuelling of Parlin; three grandchildren: Tyler, Ashley, and Ryan; her sister, Phyllis Spagnardi of Belleville; two brothers, Louis Spagnardi and his wife, Margaret of Durham, NC and Joseph Spagnardi and his wife, Emily of Lexington, NC. She is also survived by many other family members and devoted friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13th at Rezem Funeral Home in East Brunswick from 9am to 9:45am followed by a funeral prayer service. Interment will be held at 10:15am at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick. Face coverings and social distancing guidelines will be required. Due to the current restrictions, a Memorial Mass and Repass will be held at a later date.
