Junxiang Zhang, 70, of South Amboy, passed away on July 18, 2020 after a battle with cancer. Born in Guangdong, China in 1950, he was the son of the late Shenping Zhang and Jiu Zhong. He grew up in one of the poorest villages in China with four brothers and five sisters and worked his way up to become a successful businessman in international trade. He traveled all over the world and dreamt of bringing his family to America. That dream became a reality in 1993, when the family moved to New Jersey. After retirement, Junxiang spent his days cooking his family's favorite dishes. He was known as the best chef in our family and in his circle of friends. He loved the sea and went fishing as much as he could. He loved sharing stories about his past and dishing out knowledge along the way. But he loved nothing more than doting on his grandkids. No one could put a smile on his face the way Kaden and Kairi did. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to all. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Jun, son Ed and daughter Lucy. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 11AM-1PM at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. A service will be held at 1PM at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
