Obituary of Nicholas Startare
Nicolas Startare passed away Tuesday, February 20th at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge.
He was 92 years of age.
Born in Barnesboro, PA, he was a long time resident in Old Bridge, where he retired as a custodian and bus driver for the school system, and communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Nicholas also worked for Inland Container, in the shipping department, and Permaseal Tape.
He was a proud Veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII on the U.S.S. Hancock.
Nicholas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anna Mae Startare, his sister Elena Wajda, and brother Victor Startare.
He leaves behind his loving family; sons Kevin Startare and Nicholas Startare Jr. and his wife Catherine, daughter Kathleen Sciora, his 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Jannell and Sean, and his long time companion Doris Mellilo.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 23th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 24th, at 10:15am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge. Burial to follow at St. Peters Cemetery in New Brunswick.
