Obituary of Maureen Pranio

Maureen Lynn (Makowski) Pranio passed away at the age of 50, Friday December 15, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick with her husband by her side and surrounded by loved ones.

She lived in Spotswood with her family for 27 years, until she wed her husband Massimo (Max) Pranio on September 24, 1994 and made permanent residence in North Brunswick, NJ ever since.

Maureen graduated from Spotswood High School in 1985. She played on the High School Basketball team, and went twice to Florida representing the Spotswood High School Marching Band playing the clarinet. She also played softball for the Spotswood Women's league. Maureen graduated from Middlesex County College and thereafter held various positions in Retail. She later became a dedicated employee of Sam's Club and assisted in the opening of the Edison store.

Maureen battled with Diabetes from a young age and in 1998 with the grace of God received a Kidney transplant. And after 16 years she had to go back on Dialysis while waiting for another transplant.

She was an avid animal lover, and had many fur babies, whom she loved like her children. She was a passionate fan of the NY Giants and everyone who knew her knew of her obsession with Justin Timberlake of N'Sync.

She is predeceased by her Father, Chester Makowski, and her beloved pets Rusty, Jessie, & most recently Duke.

Surviving are her beloved husband of over 23 years Massimo Pranio and her dog Daysie; her mother, Helen Makowski of Spotswood, her brother and sisters; Chester and Catherine Makowski of Little Egg Harbor, Celeste Champion of North Brunswick, Andrew Makowski of Spotswood, Patricia Gusz of Elmwood Park, Joan and Steve Teahl of Old Bridge, her in-laws Giacomo and Rosina Pranio; her sister-in law Cindy & John Khorsandi of Staten Island; three nephews, two nieces; many aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family members and many good friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday December 21st at 10:15am at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood.
