Obituary of Dorothy Hofacker-Schoemer
Dorothy E. Hofacker-Schoemer passed away Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick.
She was 71 years of age.
Born in Jersey City, she moved to East Brunswick in 1955, was a graduate of East Brunswick High School, and then settled in South River, where she lived for the past 23 years.
Dot, known by her family as "Sissy", was a Cashier in the East Brunswick Pathmark for over 22 years, retiring in 2014. She was an avid Bingo player, playing in various churches around the area, and loved to play cards with her friends, as well as take trips to Atlantic City, and spend every Thursday out with her dear friend Ruthie.
She was predeceased by her parents, William J. and Margaret I. Egbert, her sister Elaine Esposito, and brother William Egbert Jr.
Dot leaves behind her beloved family and friends; son William J. Hofacker Jr. (Tracy Parker), and 2 daughters, Vicki Hofacker (Steven Morris) and Jodi Nicolai (Erik Nicolai), her grandchildren Lauren, Brogan, Cody, Shayne, Riley, and Emmerson, step-grandchildren Felicia and Alyssa, her sister Margaret Miller, aunt Florence "Florie" Smith, her grandpup Brigante, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place Sunday, September 10th, from 12-2pm and 4-6pm, with a service being held at 5pm at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
