Obituary of Ragnhild Collins
Ragnhild (Ronnie) Thor Collins peacefully passed on Tuesday, July 12th at Monroe Village. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John (Jack) Collins in 2008; her parents, Eric and Elsie Thor; her daughter-in-law Karen; a half-sister Lily Anderson in Sweden; and her closest and dearest Aunt Merta.
Surviving are her beloved children, Pamela (Toms River), John Jr. (Milltown) and Robert and his wife Judy (Robbinsville), along with cherished grandchildren, Steven, Laura, Eric, and Scott, and grand dog Brodie. Also her sister Marion Kaplan (Burlington), Cousins Barbara Dunne (Florham Park), Joyce Schuberg (Salem, OR), four nieces and nephews and many cousins in Sweden.
Ronnie was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1933, moved to NJ in 1947, and was a resident of East Brunswick for over 60 years. She graduated from New Brunswick HS and Middlesex General Hospital School of Nursing (now RWJ University Hospital) with an RN degree. She attended Rutgers University and MCC and graduated from Jersey City State College with a BA in Community Health Education, and The New School in New York City with a MPS in Health Services Administration and a minor in Gerontology. She was employed by the NJ State Department of Human Services for 22 years and retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist in 1995. She was active in the Middlesex General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and the Quality Assurance Professionals Assoc. of NJ.
She was interested in local history, advocating for seniors' rights, and was a member of the East Brunswick Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, writing, and attending performances at the Imperial Music Center in South River with her friends. She also enjoyed dancing, camping, travel, cooking, antiques, and the Jersey shore. After the loss of her husband, she found solace in her Sweet Solitude Class. Most of all she enjoyed time with her family. She will be remembered for her charm and wit, and always helping people with a medical need, especially the elderly. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

Visitation will be at held Monday, July 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. A service will be held Tuesday, July 18th at 11:00am at the Funeral Home.
