Sean R. McGuire, 55, of Monmouth Junction, died early Saturday after a nearly 8-year fight with cancer.
Sean was born at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Maryland. He served honorably in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for four years. He was a licensed water and wastewater operator in New Jersey and he was the water plant operator for Hightstown, N.J.
Sean loved T-shirts, but not as much as he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Grace H. McGuire of Monmouth Junction; his parents, Sharon A. and Sanford R. McGuire of Thurmont, Md.; a brother, Brian P. McGuire of Owings Mills, Md.; a sister, Mollie McGuire Fish and her husband Greg Fish of Middletown, Md.; a sister Kate McGuire-Kohlhepp and her husband Ed Kohlhepp of Georgetown, Texas. Sean had many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins spread throughout the country, including Gary Rhodes, Melissa Medina and Abbey Stanley, all of Virginia; Denise and Keith Pittenger of North Carolina; and Daniel Yackman of New Jersey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Kara and Eric Paul; Tommy Lanza, Diana Godlewski, Kerri and Bo Scarborough, Courtney and Brian Franzyshen, Kevin Kohlhepp, Mariah Krouse, Jason Fish, Ben Fish, Hannah Paul and Jake Paul.
There will be a viewing Sunday, July 30 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home.
