Biography

EAST BRUNSWICK - Thomas Koletis died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at home. He was 83.
Born in New Brunswick, he resided in East Brunswick for over 55 years.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was an instrument technician and head of maintenance at Revlon in Edison for 33 years.
A Marine Corps Veteran of WW II and Korea, he was a member of the First Marine Division Guadalcanal, and had served in Okinawa during WW II. He was a Purple Heart Recipient for being wounded in combat, and was a member of the Marine Corps Rifle Team. He was a member of the John Basilone Detachment of the Marine Corps League, and the VFW #133 in East Brunswick. He was also active with Toys for Tots at the Brunswick Square Mall.
He was an avid hunter, and was a charter member of the Devils Brook Rod and Gun Club; he was a past Scoutmaster with the St. Bart's Scouting Troop 109 for many years. He delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, and was a member of the East Brunswick Senior Center, where he was a member of the Wednesday Night Club, and the square dancing group.
He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Zito Koletis in 2007.
Surviving are three sons, John and his wife Kathleen Koletis of Westbrook, Maine, Thomas and his wife Alyssa Koletis of Jackson, and Mark and his wife Yuko Koletis of Kallispell, Montana; a sister, Katherine Bibis of South Brunswick; and three grandchildren, Angela, Anthony and Max.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew Church, East Brunswick. Entombment with military honors will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 4-8PM.
