Michael Periu, Sr.
Michael Periu, Sr. of East Brunswick died on March 8, 2010 of natural causes. Michael was born in Camaguey, Cuba in 1944, the son of parents Homero and Dora.
He was a distinguished scholar and cadet, studying at the renowned Havana Military Academy
in Havana, Cuba. After leaving Cuba, he successfully continued his studies in the United States, graduating from the New York Institute of Technology. Michael had a successful career in banking which spanned 30 years, achieving senior positions at the Vice presidential level at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He had a keen intellect, complemented by his wisdom and compassion. Michael had a rich and fulfilling family life. He met his future wife and soul mate Livia in Havana in 1961, establishing a bond that would last the rest of his life. Michael married Livia
in 1971 and they had two loving sons. Michael had many relatives and friends who cared for him and will miss him, including his two granddaughters, which were the source of much joy for him in his final years.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Livia; sons Albert and Michael; daughter-in-law Raquel; granddaughters Maria Belen and Olivia; mother Dora; brother Carlos; nephews Carlos and Daniel; niece Livia; brother-in-law and sister-in- law Joaquin and Zoila Montes and many
other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church.
Entombment will be at the Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum in South Brunswick.
