Bernard G. Mendez, Sr., 85, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Florida.
Born on October 5, 1924 in Brooklyn he resided at Spruce Creek Del Webb
for the past seven years and was formerly of Staten Island, NY.

Mr. Mendez attended St. Theresa's Parish in Belleview, FL.

He worked at Con Edison in New York for 47 years, and retired as a superintendent.
He was a WWII Veteran in the Army/Air Force.
Mr. Mendez received the "Distinguished Flying Cross for Extraordinary Achievement"
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Camille Mendez, his daughters: Paulette Ortado, Gina Lyons, Laurie Van Winkle, his sons: John Mendez, Bernard Mendez, Jr., James Lyons, his
3 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, a sister, Dolores Mondella, and a brother, Philip Muno.
 
Bernard Mendez was a WWII hero, but always a hero to his family!
 
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 9:00 AM at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM mass of Christian burial at St. Bartholomew RC Church, 470 Ryders La. in East Brunswick.
Entombment will be at the Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum in South Brunswick.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ.
